Rajasthan’s farmers are set to receive another boost in financial assistance. Along with ₹6,000 from the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, the state government is preparing to increase the CM Kisan Samman Nidhi payment from ₹3,000 to ₹6,000 per year.
This means around 74 lakh farmers in Rajasthan could soon get a total of ₹12,000 annually. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma while transferring ₹3,900 crore in claims under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for Rabi crop losses.
Currently, Rajasthan farmers receive ₹6,000 from the central government under PM Kisan and ₹3,000 from the state scheme, paid in three installments. If the hike is implemented, the state’s contribution will double to ₹6,000, matching Madhya Pradesh, where farmers already get ₹12,000 annually.
Eligibility
No separate eligibility is required for the CM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Beneficiaries must already qualify for the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
PMFBY Update
On August 11, the central government credited ₹3,900 crore to 35 lakh farmers under PMFBY. A second installment of ₹8,000 crore is expected soon. Farmers whose claims haven’t yet been credited are advised not to worry.
